Introduction to the school

Founded in June 2016, School of Public Health and Management, Wenzhou Medical University, is a multiple-disciplinary school specialized in key construction of Preventive Medicine and Administration.

The school is comprised of school office, teaching office, students office and Youth League Committee; the teaching faculties include Department of Preventive Medicine, Department of Management, Department of Law, and Department of Environment Studies; teaching labs include Environment and Public Health Lab, Experimental Teaching Center of Liberal Arts; research-based labs include Water Environment and Health Risk Research Lab for River Basins in Zhejiang Province, Environment Safety and Health Risk Research Center, and Nutrition and Disease Research Center. Among all labs the Water Environment and Health Risk Research Lab for River Basins in Zhejiang Province is a key lab in Zhejiang Province and the Environment and Environment and Public Health Lab is an exemplary laboratory of Zhejiang Province.

This school has established a bachelor-master-doctor multi-level talent training system and offers six specialties including Preventive Medicine, Public Service Administration, Labor and Social Security, Marketing, Environment Science (no more enrollment available), and Law (trusted to Renji school). Department of Preventive Medicine is a new rising star of the “12^th five-year-plan” and the “13^th five-year-plan” of Zhejiang Province; Public Service Administration is a new rising star of the “12^th five-year-plan” of Zhejiang Province. The school has first-level master programs for Public Health and Preventive Medicine, master program for Public Health (MPH), and master program for Public Administration (MPA).

Currently the school employs 95 teaching staff, including 68 full-time teachers with 10 having senior title and 19 with sub-senior title. We have also introduced 15 visiting professors from the U.S. Currently we have 6 doctoral supervisors and 30 postgraduate supervisors, among whom one has been honored as Specially Appointed Professor of “Qianjiang Scholar” in Zhejiang Province, 1 as Provincial Outstanding Youth, 4 as Third-tier 151 Provincial Talent, and 16 as Second-and Third-tier 551 Municipal Talent.

We have one key research base for higher education in Zhejiang Province, two key subjects of Zhejiang Province, and one top subject for the “13^th five-year-plan” of Zhejiang Province. In 2016 and 2017, we have won 14 national level projects, 21 provincial level projects, and each project has raised over 5 million Yuan. We have been awarded 7 patents for invention licenses and we have over 80 articles published on SCI, SSCI, and other primary journals and periodicals.

We have been actively engaged in international academic exchanges and cooperation. We have established long-term friendship and cooperation with universities and research institutes in America, Japan, Sweden, and Taiwan. We will continue to carry extensive academic exchanges, research collaboration, and exchange student cooperation programs.
